BRUSHSTROKES 2013 – ODISHA LALIT KALA AKADEMI - BHUBANESHWAR
For an young company such as colourentice this encouragement seemed like a divine intervention. We celebrated the coming of the new year with the launch of our “brushstrokes” series. We received immense support from the government of Odisha, with the Chief Minister himself gracing the occasion for the inauguration and then felicitating some senior mid career artist and some tribal children from various schools across districts.


We sent invitation cards to 1500 art lovers to ensure that the exhibition was a full house for all the 5 days and followed it up with a telephone call a day ahead of the exhibition.

Our marketing effort was impeccable. Hoardings, banners, gates, newspaper inserts were active 10 days before the event. We launched a tele calling activity to reach the our guests and invites a day prior.

100 handpicked pieces of art created by over 70 artists from Odisha and rest of the country were on display at the Lalit Kala Akademi, Regional Centre, Bhubaneswar.
Brushstrokes 2013 showcased works of art by emerging artists of Odisha and emerging & mid career artists from various parts of India.
Honourable Chief Minister of Odisha Mr Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of established and young artists. The exhibition also gives a glimpse of the tribal art through display of paintings created by tribal children from Odisha.
Odisha’s famous artist Shri Manas Ranjan Jena is the curator for the show.

7 school children and 9 senior mid career artists on behalf of colourentice and Tata Steel

Senior artists from across India were felicitated at the art show. Ananta Panda, Chandramani Biswal and Siba Panigrahi from Bhubaneswar Wasim Kapoor, Dhiren Sasmal, Samir Sarkar and Subrata Ghosh from Kolkata, Paramesh Paul from Mumbai and Jeevan Gosika from Hyderabad are few of the artistes who were felicitated for their contribution to Indian contemporary art, by the Honourable Chief Minister.
With recommendation of Tata Steel 7 Tribal children from 4 different tribal districts of Odisha were felicitated by the Chief Minister. These children were winners of an art competition held at the district level by Tata Steel.

As a part of “brushstrokes – 2013”, Odisha colourentice.com organised a 2 day art camp for the school children from different districts in Odisha. These children were selected to represent their schools at this art camp hosted by some top artists in the country. 70 children representing 14 schools from 4 districts participated in the camp.
